What can you, the average Parent/Citizens DO about racism?
Everyone strives for equity, but isn't respect, tolerance and love for ALL of human kind the real issue?
As with anything, Tolerance, and Respect begin at home. If you raise a child with bigotry and racism, you will have a bigoted, racist, discriminating adult; the apple will usually never fall far from the tree. We "baby boomers" started something that has snowballed. We wanted a better life for our children. We became closer to them, in and of itself not a bad thing – BUT gave them everything we had worked for. Unfortunately being your child's friend does not result in having a very ethical, principled, obedient child! Now we have made them all equal. No one needs to strive to be the best because every participant is rewarded regardless of effort, now there are many best's of all shapes and sizes! All kids get a trophy! Well, baloney! Striving for and EARNING that apple in the race is part of what helped mold us into a great nation. Parents, it is time to take parenting back as a full time job!
These early ideas of equality have mutated to where they transcend and overshadow the issue of achievement. Does a person, for example, who is best qualified for a job, not deserve that job without regard of the color of their skin, their sex, or their religious beliefs? What if the better person, more qualified, more experienced and obviously the best choice for the position, is passed over due to another person’s skin color, sex, or religion? This is called “grading on a curve”. Irrespective of color, sex, or religion what should that best qualified person do? Should they fight for their principled rights or shrug their shoulders and walk away? We rely on our upbringing and the tools we were taught to help us form these decisions. This is why we must re-educate and re-learn at home. In a perfect world any injustice will not occur. In our current world we know the "Race Card" is played as trump consistently!
In these instances, where decisions are based on color, sex, or religion, how often do we notice the discriminated person is white? Turn the tables and place a black man, the legal Immigrant, a yellow or brown skinned woman into the mix. The issue exponentially explodes. Where does racism or reverse racism fit into this picture? Is racism alive and well in America today? Is racism due to a stigma of class placed on people of different colors by our Fore Fathers centuries ago? How long do people of the white race pay for "Sins of the Father”? Is racism the same as discrimination? Are, for example, Hispanics more discriminated due to so many illegal Mexicans in America? Where does discrimination of gender or sexuality fit? And religion for that matter. If you reside in a foreign country, how are these racist discrimination cases viewed? Are America's White citizens now becoming the target of racism and discrimination, as per popular definition "reverse- racism"? Stay Tuned...

Selecting the topic for this first newsletter was not an easy task, in light of all the racial upset in America today. However, it was decided to begin at the beginning. We must educate our children, for they hold the keys to Americas future!
